Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and growth-oriented Sr. Research Associate/Pr. Research Associate to join our Cell Biology team. The successful candidate will work at the bench, applying established and novel research methods to characterize biologically derived non-viral delivery vehicles. Working closely with their supervisor, the candidate will contribute to the design of experiments, execute and document experimental work, perform laboratory support work as needed, and contribute to data analysis and communication of experimental results.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with relevant cell culture systems and molecular biology methods, and the capability and desire to learn and apply new experimental methodologies. Drive to execute, experimental rigor and scientific curiosity are key! We are a small and growing company, so the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities is a must.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on projects involving bioassay development and mechanism of action studies utilizing novel gene editing delivery technologies
  • Apply methods in cell biology, cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemistry to advance scientific projects
  • Working with supervisor, select the most suitable methodology, and contribute to the design of experiments
  • Independently set up and prepare routine experiments as directed. Execute protocols of non-routine experiments with supervision as needed
  • Perform calculations, record and document data, analyze data using scientific and statistical methods, and communicate results
  • Lab administrative responsibilities including ordering and tracking of laboratory supplies, preparation of lab reagents, chemicals, instruments and equipment for use

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological science or a related field with 2-5 years of post-graduation industry experience
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, PCR, and related cell/molecular biology methods
  • Familiarity with stable cell line development and experience working with viral vectors/nanoparticles preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Full time in-person work is necessary for this laboratory-based position
  • We work in facilities that require that all individuals working on-site are vaccinated for COVID-19
